Native of Europe, Africa, and West Asia, the mosqueta rose is a spiny, perennial shrub that blossoms white or pale pink 5 petal roses. It grows in the south and central regions of Chile, where it was brought by the Spanish conquerors. It can also be found in the USA and Bulgary.
ROSEHIP OIL ON THE SKIN
Studies have shown considerable effectiveness of Rosehip Oil in the treatment of the skin, due to compounds with antioxidant tissue regeneration action, being and important element in the formation and deposition of collagen, in addition to stimulating cellular proliferation.
The essential oily acids that are part of this oil’s composition are important for maintain the skin’s integrity and to many physiological processes, especially the inhibition of free radical, in addition of the emollient property, that forms a protective layer that impedes excessive water loss on the skin.

The satisfactory results of studies with mosqueta rose oil are also attributed to retinol (vitamin A or transretinoic acid), ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and carotenoid pigments including many xanthines and lycopene, found in the oil.
The outcome is an antioxidant action, clearing and brightness of the skin, stimulation of collagen and elastin synthesis, increases the number and activity of fibroblasts and causes angiogenesis, leading to an increase in blood flow, which takes nutrients.
